China Is Smoggy Again



Northern China is battling heavyweight smog that has swept across in a rather alarming manner. It has been surprising to find the speed with which the smog has covered all major area and it seems that the coverage area is increasing quite rapidly. Now you can see that technological progress at the cost of environment can have serious ramifications. Or is this smog a regular activity? The effect of rising pollution levels in China cannot be denied and this has definitely had an impact.

Meanwhile visibility has been reduced to approx. 200m in the capital region and authorities have advised people to stay indoors. All across the street you can see people wearing masks. Even in offices people are wearing headgear fearing the toxic air may have ventured inside the office premises. China Central Television is full of smog stories. Hundreds of flights have been affected.
